We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this application.

2. What data we collect

We collect and process the following categories of personal data:

Account & identity data Name, email address, phone number, job title, and business details of the user (accountant or business owner) who registers an account.

Tax & financial data UTR (Unique Taxpayer Reference), VAT registration numbers, financial figures, income and expenditure data, and any other information submitted through the application in connection with HMRC Making Tax Digital (MTD) obligations.

Client data Where you are an accountant or tax agent using Sliq360 on behalf of your clients, you may upload or enter personal and financial data relating to those clients. You are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate legal basis to share that data with us.

Technical data IP address, browser type, device information, and usage logs collected automatically when you use the application.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the Sliq360 service
  • Connect to HMRC’s APIs on your behalf (Making Tax Digital)
  • Send you service-related communications (e.g. submission confirmations)
  • Comply with our legal obligations
  • Improve the application based on usage patterns (anonymised)

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

5. Who we share your data with

We may share your data with:

  • HMRC — solely to fulfil MTD obligations via their official APIs
  • Cloud infrastructure providers — our hosting and storage providers (e.g. AWS / Azure), operating under data processing agreements
  • Support tools — internal tools used by our team to operate the service, subject to strict access controls

All third parties are contractually required to protect your data in line with UK GDPR.

6. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active, and for 6 years after account closure (to meet HMRC record-keeping requirements). Client data may be deleted earlier upon your written request, where no legal obligation requires us to retain it.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
